The excursion
Discover the culture of the Maremma butteri with an evening of horses, traditions, and local flavors at La Sosta del Buttero – Centro Ippico La Bandita, near Castiglione della Pescaia. The equestrian show is directed by Luca Ficai, a buttero and storyteller of Maremma culture, and includes demonstrations of natural communication with horses based on observing their herd behavior.
The evening includes a Maremma-style dinner with typical dishes, local products, and regional wines. There is also an option for dinner at the edge of the arena to watch the show in a more immersive atmosphere. Before the show, children can enjoy a pony ride.
Gates open at 7:30 PM, dinner starts at 8:30 PM, and the show begins at 8:45 PM. The indicated duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes. The event takes place outdoors, in the countryside: it is advisable to bring a sweatshirt, especially for the little ones.
