The excursion
Cowboy for a Day is an evening dedicated to tradition and country life, held at Agriturismo La Pulledraia, in the Maremma Park, in Alberese. The butteri mount their horses to gather the herds of Maremma cows and horses. The animals reach the gathering point, enter the enclosure, and parade through the incastrino, offering the chance to observe them up close.
The demonstration continues in the working round pen. Those who wish can try working with the gentlest horses; children can ride safely. At the end, the herds return to pasture under the pine forest.
After sunset, the evening continues with a convivial dinner featuring typical Maremma dishes, accompanied by wine and soft drinks. Live music is provided, including choirs and traditional songs. The experience takes place in the open countryside. The schedule indicates the activity every Thursday in July and August; the individual 2026 season has ended.
