The excursion
The Crazy Boat invites you to experience the sea of Elba Island like a true fisherman. Departure is from the port of Marina di Campo aboard a fishing boat that hosts a maximum of 12 people per trip. Captain Gaetano, a fisherman for over 40 years, shares the secrets of sustainable fishing with nets and traps. Together you haul the nets and discover the work of a fishing boat, before stopping in a cove chosen based on the fishing area.
During the stop you can relax and swim in the island's waters; fishing with a rod is also possible. No experience is needed: you can help with cleaning the fish or simply enjoy the day. On board, the catch of the day is cooked on the spot in a simple way. The morning trip includes lunch, the afternoon trip dinner.
The duration is about six hours. The indicated times are 9:00 AM–4:00 PM for the morning trip and 5:00 PM–10:30 PM for the afternoon one. The operating period is from May to October for the morning and from June to September for the afternoon. There are no predefined routes: the coves are chosen based on the fishing areas. The boat has a canopy that offers a good shaded area. The recommended minimum age is 3 years.
The experience includes an aperitif, lunch or dinner with the catch of the day, fruit, dessert and coffee, water, wine and beverages. Snorkeling and SUP equipment are also available if needed.
