The excursion
Depart from San Vincenzo for a day discovering Giglio Island. Boarding is scheduled at 8:00 and departure at 8:15; during the approximately three-hour navigation, there is a quick boarding stop at Porto Azzurro, on Elba Island. Arrival at Giglio is expected at 11:30. You will have time to visit the island independently or participate in excursions with environmental guides. Departure for the return is at 16:30, with arrival in San Vincenzo around 19:45.
From the port, you can reach Giglio Castello by local bus. For Spiaggia delle Cannelle, you can choose the walking route, about 1.4 km and 20 minutes, or a shared taxi. The beach has a bar, bathing establishment, and free area; the seabed is shallow and sandy. Spiaggia delle Caldane is reachable on foot, with a walk of about 40 minutes, or by taxi boat available at the L’Ancora shop, which takes about 10 minutes.
At the port, you will find shops, venues, and Caletta del Saraceno, about 150 meters away, with submerged remains of a Roman villa. Shared taxis are also available for Cannelle, Giglio Castello, and Giglio Campese, as well as rental services. Animals are allowed on board. For dogs on Tuscany buses, a muzzle is mandatory, even for small breeds. The indicated schedule is on Wednesdays, from July 8 to September 2, 2026; the individual 2026 season has ended.
