Discover the experience
The excursion
A journey between the blue sea and 30,000 years of history, discovering the coast of Porto Ercole and some of its most evocative corners. The boat excursion lasts about two hours and departs from Porto Ercole. During the navigation, the skipper accompanies the tour with explanations about the territory.
The first stop is the Blue Grotto: when sea conditions permit, you enter by boat to admire the light reflections in the water. Shortly ahead is the Saints' Grotto, an important prehistoric site where evidence of the presence of Neanderthal Man was found, who lived in these caves about 30,000-40,000 years ago. At that time, the sea level was lower and a plain populated by wild animals extended in front of Argentario.
The tour continues towards the Ficaie, where a stop is planned for swimming and snorkeling in the transparent waters. Stops may vary depending on sea conditions and marine traffic; among the most frequent destinations are Cala dei Santi, Blue Grotto, and Ficaie. A limited number of masks and snorkels are available on board.
The indicated departures are at 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, and 15:00. From September 1st, except for large groups, the 9:00 and 13:00 departures are not carried out: efforts are made to fill the 11:00 shift, and the 15:00 shift is opened only if the 11:00 one is full. A maximum of 22 participants and a minimum of 8 are indicated to guarantee the activity. The sheet reports: “INDIVIDUAL SEASON 2026 ENDED.”
