Lucio Corsi represents Italy at Eurovision 2025

Maremma is taking the stage at Europe’s most important music event! Lucio Corsi, a singer-songwriter from Grosseto, has been chosen to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will be held in Basel, Switzerland, from 13 to 17 May. It is a historic opportunity for our area: it is not every day that an artist raised among the hills and coastlines of Maremma finds himself in the spotlight before millions of viewers from around the world.

Who is Lucio Corsi?

Born in Grosseto in 1990, Lucio Corsi is a musician and songwriter who has succeeded in blending the poetry of Italian singer-songwriter tradition with contemporary sounds. His lyrics evoke landscapes, emotions and small everyday truths, often inspired by nature and the tranquillity of our land. Known for his sensitivity and refined style, Lucio has attracted an increasingly broad niche of listeners over the years.

In 2025, following a Sanremo that made room for new artistic choices, he was selected to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 — a decision that rewards the originality and depth of his music.

What is the Eurovision Song Contest?

Eurovision is one of the most widely followed music events in the world. It began in 1956 to unite Europe through music and now involves more than 40 countries. Each nation presents an artist and an original song, performed live in a show that combines music, culture and spectacle. The winners are decided through a combination of national jury votes and the international public vote.

Italy, as one of the so-called “Big Five” (alongside Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Spain), automatically qualifies for the grand final.

Where and when will the 2025 edition take place?

Following Switzerland’s victory in 2024, the 2025 edition of Eurovision will be held in Basel, at the St. Jakobshalle, one of Switzerland’s largest event venues. Here is the schedule:

  • Tuesday, 13 May: First semi-final – 9:00 p.m. (live on Rai 2)

  • Thursday, 15 May: Second semi-final – 9:00 p.m. (live on Rai 2)

  • Saturday, 17 May: Final – 9:00 p.m., live on Rai 1

Lucio Corsi will take to the stage during the grand final, bringing his Maremman style and unique voice before the whole of Europe.

All of Maremma is cheering him on

For us at Maremma Escursioni, and for everyone who loves this land, it is a source of great pride to see a son of Maremma taking centre stage on the international scene. Lucio represents not only Italy, but also an authentic way of making music, deeply rooted in his origins and in the simple beauty of our region.

We invite everyone to follow the event and support Lucio wholeheartedly (and perhaps even with votes from relatives and friends abroad!). It will be an evening when Maremma sings together with Europe.

Go Lucio! Go Maremma!
