The time has come: Montecristo 2026 bookings are now open!
If there is one place that embodies the concept of “natural exclusivity”, it is undoubtedly Montecristo Island. Protected, wild and shrouded in myth, the island opens its doors to just a very limited number of lucky visitors each year.
Bookings for the 2026 season officially opened on Monday, 9 February. If you dream of setting foot on the granite of this biogenetic nature reserve, here is everything you need to know to secure your place on board.
🗓️ How and when to book
The challenge is against the clock: each date has limited availability of just 75 places.
-
Where: Exclusively online on the official website parcoarcipelago.info/montecristo/.
-
Requirements: The booking is issued in the visitor’s name and requires the details of all participants (maximum 6 people per booking) to be entered at the time of payment, which must be made immediately by credit card.
⛴️ Departures and costs
Excursions cost € 140 per person, including round-trip sea transport and an environmental guide service.
-
Standard departure: From Piombino Marittima, with a stop in Porto Azzurro (Elba Island).
-
Special departures (22 May and 12 June): From Porto Santo Stefano, with a stop at Giglio Island.
🥾 For true trekking enthusiasts: Monte della Fortezza
This year, two unmissable dates are scheduled for those who want to reach the island’s highest point: 11 April and 6 September.
-
Summit (€ 180): Just 12 places for experienced hikers ready to reach the top.
-
Standard Plus (€ 150): 63 places to enjoy an extra hour on the island.
⚠️ Golden rules for your visit
Montecristo is an extremely fragile ecosystem. Before packing your rucksack, remember:
-
Minimum age: 12 years old.
-
Animals: Not permitted, including small animals.
-
Equipment: It is essential to read the Park’s guidelines on clothing and hiking boots; without the correct equipment, the guide may deny access to the trails.
Special rate for residents: If you live in a municipality of the Tuscan Archipelago, you are entitled to a reduced rate of € 60 for one of the 100 reserved places. Please note, however, that priority booking expires on 2 March 2026!
Montecristo Island is not just a day trip; it is a journey through time and the purest nature. Good luck with the “click day”!
